Though electrical installation standards in Europe are being standardized, the method is still not complete and there are significant differences between many European countries. In most European countries the electrical connectors don't seem to be polarized. This means that generally common two pin and three pin mains connector plugs might be connected to create electricity. The regulations for electrical wiring in European countries varies somewhat from country to country, thus accounting for the differences.
The trendy UK standards and rules for electrical wiring no longer differ substantially from folks in Europe. But, there are a selection of noteworthy national peculiarities. The quality wiring colors in the UK are (as of 2010) the same as elsewhere in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
